How to Start Your (My) Online Marketing Business: Afterthoughts Part.1

Another event I've booked on Evenbrite, it's free, so why not? By the way, I'm not sponsored by Evenbrite.

There's so much I've learnt from this 2 hour talk, which I have to break it into Part 1 and 2. For this post, I'll be taking about what's the talk about. For part 2, I'll be talking about what I've learnt from the speaker himself. Let's get started.

To be honest, I've thought that this workshop will let me gain an insight on how to improve my online freelancing skill but it ends up not. However, I've still learnt a couple of things from the speaker Chris Rowell and I think there are few important points that he had touched on marketing and practical social media advertising.

Chris kicked off the workshop by emphasising "system work, people fail", simple quote, complex concept. The way business works had not changed since the past few centuries have made people to stay in their comfort zone. No one thought about changing the living system. We work everyday and get paid every month, because we thought that entrepreneurship requires risk and "we can't afford to risk it".

"The way business works had not changed since the past few centuries"

"What? I think that the system of people getting paid every month is a bigger risk. Why not think of a way that can generate income every single day?" replied Chris.

Making so much sense, right? But how can we achieve that dream?

He also stressed that we could change the way to work so we can have more time to concentrate on things we love, such as family, hobbies and travelling.

Really? Work less and achieve the "dream life" we had always imagined?

Your curiosity answered

The key of his workshop is to teach us how using Facebook to advertise a product can be a really effective way to reach correct audiences and convert them into potential prospects. Well, to really learn about that, I would have to sign up for his 3 days workshop. Hmm..

By utilising Facebook to do the selling job (of course, you would have to pay Facebook every time when people click your post) you unconsciously created a system that works for you. The system makes more sense if you are selling digital products such as training course and ebooks because all you need is knowledge and market it on Facebook and wait for cash to come into your pocket. By selling physical products, you would lose a lot money to different distribution channels. Sourcing and shipping just sucked out to much pennies.

"By selling physical products, you would lose a lot money to different distribution channels."

He also mentioned that why design your own product when you can just sell successful products that people are selling and get commission from it. In fact, that's the real purpose of this workshop. Uh...

The actual goal is to make people subscribe to you while you get their contacts. With their contacts, you could sell related products and generate multi channel income. Rich people have multiple income sources. Just like the kids nowadays, they are rich because they have multiple income sources from dad, mom, uncle, granddad...

Your answer in a sentence

All these are called affiliate marketing. To do this, you'll need a good internet and a laptop, that's it.

I bet you finished this article in less than 3 minutes time, why the 2 hours workshop? Well, testimonial took almost half of the time. Half of the participants went away halfway the presentation. That's like half of the half of the half....of the half...

Of course, there are more that I haven't share but this post would touch 3000 words and that's a bit insane. Follow @k2studiobox and get in touched because I'll cover part 2 as fast as possible and I promise, it's way more interesting.
