Life Death Whatever: Using design as a medium to express message

A projection of #lifedeathwhatever video

I'm a big fan of design world and formerly a hater in art world. Soon after I realised that both of them are equally important to shape the human we are today. Design emphasises content and functionality, while art focuses on message and aesthetic. Lacking any one of them will result in impairment of visual excitement and functional experience. Today, we went to a short film screening event that talks about death, sounds boringly creepy for me. But the way they make the topic fun is by introducing fashion design as a medium to let everyone embrace/overcome the fear of death. In the short film, many women are interviewed and asked what outfit they want to wear when they are laid in the coffin forever? This kind of approach make audiences imagine their funeral. Perhaps, the director could organise a painting exhibition to get community talk about death, but no doubt fashion sounds more interesting then a bunch of paintings.

At the end, design can be just a medium to convey messages.
